En Primeur

En Primeur, also known as Wine Futures, refers to the process of buying wines before they are bottled and released onto the market. Wines are usually delivered 2-3 years after the vintage, and can only be purchased by the unmixed case (12 bottles, 24 half bottles, 6 magnums).

This year I purchased 2 cases, one case of each of the following for 2004:

Chateau Quinault-L'Enclos @ EUR 17 (91-93 RP, 85-88 WS)

Clos de l'Oratoire St.-Emilion @ EUR 17.7 (89-91 WS 4 **** WS)

And now the delivery charge from Bordeux to Hong Kong is HK$247.93. I'm just wondering that'd be a good purchase. haha. Wine could be a good investment but 'm not sure whether these 2 are that good. For Chateau Quinault-L'Enclos 2000 its selling at £43.50 and Clos de l'Oratoire St.-Emilion 2003 at £28.00. See how it goes. Only at these 2 prices 'd be earning. Probably they'd be the cornerstone of my cellar or wine shop in the future? Who knows.

I also placed an order of Ch. Quinault L'Enclos RP 92-94 @ EUR 25.3. Hope that it'd be another good investment. haha.
